Over spring break, 60 HB students and 10 faculty leaders took part in our Fellowships in Global Citizenship, traveling to four countries across three continents. Students explored four different countries across three continents and took part in unforgettable experiences that challenged them and expanded their worldviews. They connected with local traditions, new perspectives, and built a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Prime Math Night was a success 👏💡 Prime families came together to explore the joy of math through interactive puzzles, games, and collaborative problem-solving.

Our young Blazers got creative with the selfie station and dove right into unique math challenges, a night that sparked curiosity and built a strong foundation in math for all ages.

What an incredible experience hosting Cathy Park Hong, one of @time 100 Most Influential People of 2021! A celebrated poet, essayist, and professor at @ucberkeleyofficial, Cathy captivated us with a thought-provoking discussion about her bestselling book Minor Feelings, which our AP Language students have been reading as part of their curriculum.

Our students had the unique opportunity to engage directly with Cathy during a roundtable discussion and Q&A session. It was a powerful moment for them to dive deeper into the themes of race, identity, and culture, and to ask questions that sparked even more reflection.

We’re proud to offer our students the chance to learn from such an influential voice in contemporary literature.

Early Childhood students recently took their love for dinosaurs to the next level with an exciting hands-on volcano experiment 🦕 After learning about the types of dinosaurs and their habitats, the discussion naturally shifted to volcanoes - how they erupt, what lava is like, and why it’s so fascinating.

The excitement grew as the students created their own volcanoes 🌋 One erupted with bubbling “lava” using vinegar and baking soda, while the other became a permanent part of their dinosaur habitat. This activity was a perfect blend of exploring curiosity and hands-on learning!

Prime Family Literacy Night brought K-4 families together for an evening filled with engaging literacy games, karaoke, and exciting activities—all designed to inspire a lifelong love for reading and writing 📚✍️

Thanks to the generosity and vision of Dan and Marge Moore, our students now have a 4,000-square-foot space designed for hands-on learning and creativity.

From woodworking in Pre-K to 3D printing, welding, and robotics in Upper School, the Makerspace empowers students to experiment, tinker, and build confidence in their skills. Director of the IDEA Lab, Leah Ridgeway Jackson ’99, says the best part? Seeing students embrace the mess—covered in sawdust, paint, and ideas that push the boundaries of what’s possible.

IDEO, meaning ‘for the purpose’ in Latin, is more than just a ceremony; it’s a journey through history, sisterhood, and reflection. From the instrumental procession to the symbolic roses exchanged, IDEO marks a milestone in the lives of HB girls 🤎💛
